It looks as if the Whalers and Mets are separating themselves from the rest of the pack, and could meet in the World Series again.

In the AL, the playoff spots belong to Hartford, Detroit, New York, and Baltimore. This would result as the same playoff meetings as last year. Tampa Bay, who got off to a hot start in April, is still hanging around, as they are 3 games out of 4th place. The worst team is the Buffalo Wings at 27-54.

In the NL, the playoff spots belong to New York, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, and Carolina, who is still playing excellent baseball. Milwaukee is only two games behind. The worst team is the San Diego Padres at 29-52.
