The Whalers and Mets are still in first place by comfortable margins.
In the AL, it looks more and more like a repeat of last year's playoffs (Bal vs. Hfd, NYY vs. Det). Portland is 6 games out of a playoff spot, so it will be very difficult for them to catch up, unless the Orioles spiral into some sort of a collapse. The AL's worst team is the Anaheim Angels at 38-70.
In the NL, the only the Mets and Pirates are comfortably in playoff positions. For 3rd and 4th place, it figures to be a close race down the stretch. The Carolina Storm are still playing good ball, but they are only one game up on Milwaukee for the final playoff spot. The NL's worst team is the Colorado Rockies at 37-71.
