Montreal's Hermanson assaulted by Atlanta

ATLANTA — The Braves have taken a 1-0 lead in the NLCS with a 6-3 win over the Montreal Expos at Turner Field.
Montreal starter Dustin Hermanson was unable to get through the third inning, giving up six earned runs in two-plus innings of work. Conversely, Atlanta's Greg Maddux gave up three runs, one earned, on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts in eight innings. Paul Shuey struck out three in the ninth inning to record his third save of the playoffs.
