Interesting idea, great start
Thanks.

As for draft classes...basically this was borne of an old roster project called Franchise Stars, which was to include the top 50 players for each franchise. I expanded it to include the top 75 in the history of each franchise - including two Negro League franchises. The problem was the scope was too big...75 guys a franchise sounds good until you realize that most of those all-time greats will never see the light of day, trapped behind other stars.

The solution, I figured, was to introduce these guys incrementally. I started at the poles...pre-1900 and from 2000 to present. Consider there are many more recent players than old players as a whole because of all the franchises that have begun since 1962.

My original plan was having draft classes being players who debuted in 5-year increments, so one year would be those who debuted from 1930-1934, and so on. Post 1960, I'll probably have to split players into every 3 years to avoid an oversized draft class. But basically, sometime in the middle of the season, I will spit out a random generator that will tell me which segment of players will be the next draft class.

Hope you enjoy it!
