Buddy Baer vs. Mike Weaver – Buddy had stopped Rex Layne in his in his prior bout, and Weaver had done the same thing, same round, against Gary Mason. PWillisTheMan was there at ringside to root Weaver on!

Hercules took the early lead in this bout, landing a stiff cross. Minute 2 was ruled by Buddy, who landed a pile-driving cross that made Weaver wince and take a step backward! Mike came back with a savage combination, then banged hook after hook home, his fusillade carrying the round, 19-11! He landed 42 times in all and had Baer befuddled after absorbing all those hooks!

Hercules hammered Buddy with an uppercut to open the 2nd, stopping him in his tracks. After a few pawing attempts by Baer, Weaver went for broke, throwing a wild overhand right from downtown! It landed flush, and Buddy went to Dreamland, a KO victim at 0:53 of the 2nd! It was a huge one-punch win for Hercules, who had to be considered a contender for top honors based on his showing thus far!
