Palmer started the fight very aggressively, but Barry’s counter punching was extremely effective. Barry showed that he had more power as the fight wore on; and he was the much stronger fighter. Toward the end of the fight both men were cut, but Palmer’s endurance was down to nothing. Barry won the fight in a decisive manner and became the first bantamweight champion of the world.
