-The Bangor Crusaders have traded former Newmarket Mules OF Mario Decos and a minor leaguer to the Gloucester Fishermen in exchange for 34 year old 3B Aaron Baker. Decos is hitting .293 4-18 this year and has 57 career homeruns. Baker was hitting just .224 0-4 in 49 AB's this season. His best year came in '08, when he hit .281 11-61 with 30 homeruns.

-The Lowell River Hawks send 23 year old RP Dan Koch to the Dover Green Wave for a pair of minor leaguers. Koch was 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA in 25 innings for Lowell on the season. He had also posted an impressive 30/6 K/BB ratio.

-Dover then turned around and sent 1B Martin Zamora to the Beverly Panthers for two minor league infielders. Zamora had put up some nice power numbers this year, smacking 11 homeruns and driving in 27 in 123 at-bats to go along with a .268 average.

-The Peabody Tanners have agreed on a new three year contract with star OF Ray Odom worth $9.75 million dollars. The 36 year old Odom is hitting .316 with five homeruns and 30 RBI on the year. He is the Tanners all time leader in homeruns (71) and RBI (260) and is 2nd all time in BA (.325) and SLG (.552).

-A pair of second basemen suffered significant injuries this week as first Portsmouth 2B Cris Feliciano will miss the next 2-3 months with a fractured cheekbone suffered after being hit in the face with a pitch this week. Feliciano was hitting .288 with 4 homeruns and 20 RBI. Meanwhile, the news was even worse for Frank Rockwell of the Bangor Crusaders, who will miss the rest of the season and possibly part of next year with a torn abdominal muscle suffered while running the bases. He was hitting .239 3-21, a down year after hitting .255 6-38 last year and .311 14-59 in '09.

Ending May and into June for Newmarket are three games at home against the Oyster River Bobcats followed by three in Bangor to square off against the Crusaders. End of the month stats, league standings and league leaders will also be up after the Bobcat series.
