Being tactful means beating around the bush which leads to confusion in communication. Being direct in here when answering a question, well, they want a direct answer don't they? If you beat around the bush then they think you're messing with them too. So if you're going to be blamed for being rude or whatever no matter what you do, then you may as well take the direct route.

Besides, Conn Chris said it wasn't even the noobs complaining about it so I don't see where the issue is since he was talking about treating the noobs better. I am puzzled as to why he said that since he said it wasn't them complaining.

I can venture a guess at who it was.

I see a lot of people taking what someone says, turning it around in their own mind to say something completely different, then jumping all over the person who said it for offending them. I've had it happen to me and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

I also know that if someone does offend you or belittle you, the worst thing you can do is respond to that person. Next thing you have is all out war. Just ignore them!

Anyway, if I have to worry about tippy-toeing so I don't accidentally hurt your feelings, I'd rather not bother trying to help.
