People, we already had the chance to discuss this new rule politely and we couldn't so it was locked. If some of you actually think you should have the right to come into someone else's place and be rude to other guests and expect not to be asked to either be nice or leave then you're clearly missing something. I get it that social customs are difficult to sink in for some people, but you either need to get it or you're going to get cast out of the group just like one would in real life.

Why do we want to look out for newcomers especially? Easy, because if newcomers, lurkers or posters, don't feel welcome then they likely won't stay long and that's simply not good for the community or the company. Just think to yourself: what if Cato or Getch or any the other great modders felt unwelcome and never decided to stick around? We would have lost their contributions to the game and that would have hurt many of us. I don't want to think of the contributions we did miss out on because someone was rude to them.

We've all been newcomers here and elsewhere. Maybe some of you are fine with feeling unwelcome and always push through on anyway, but many people are not and don't. Yes, newcomers can be somewhat annoying at times, but I'm sure even vets here come off as annoying when they join other forums just because they don't know all the protocols. Simply put, we need to give newcomers time to learn these protocols and talking bad to or about them does not help.

I, for one, feel very strongly about all of this as do many others. If some of you simply can't find it in you to be respectful of newcomers then I suggest you stay away from them like the plague (there are plenty of people here who are very respectful and exceedingly helpful to them so they won't be hurt by the loss of your input) and try not to ever think of them so you don't ever say anything about or to them. If you feel you really must let off some steam about newcomers, use off topic. We have it for a reason.

I'm merging these threads and locking it again. If you start another, do it in off topic or I'm going to delete it.
