Tony DeLuca 18-8-4 (6) California
Porter Wu4 +2 EUROPE
(England’s Danny Porter upset the 5-1 odds against him winning much to the delight of his home country crowd with a unanimous decision victory. The 11-6-1 (6) Porter cemented the victory by knocking DeLuca down in the final round. DeLuca looks to be past his prime, as his punches were slow and along with his reaction time.)
FIGHT OF THE NIGHT: Nigel Benn Wu4 Michael Nunn
Benn lost the first 2 rounds on all cards. In the 3rd he turned up the intensity and dropped Nunn with a huge uppercut. Benn was effective in the final round and pulled out a unanimous decision 38-37 on all three scorecards.
