Find a way to get the rights to Avalon Hill's old Statis-Pro Football (May as well get the Statis-Pro Basketball while we're dreaming!...). Then The football and basketball versions were among the best of the genre at the time, using the same action deck concept that the Trunzo's used with Title Bout. That would give both a point of reference for structure, and some data to add some meat to the bone (historical) so to speak.
