KO of Week 5#
KO of the Week:
1) Adilson Rodriques KO4 Pierre Coetzer
After standing up to the bombs of Tyson in his last fight, Coezter found himself unable to do the same vs. the gloved thunder of Brazil’s Adilson Rodrigues. Attempts by Coetzer to rise from, what would turn out to be, the bouts final knockdown were in vain. The Champion of South America was visibly unaffected by the booing he received during introductions and may have taken out any ill will he experienced on Coetzer. A left hook sprawled Coetzer onto the canvas in the 1st round, and Rodrigues dealt out steady methodical punsishment until landing the fatal knockout blow in the 4th round.
2) Muangchai Kittikasem KO4 Richard Clarke
With about 14 seconds remaining in the fight Kittikasem landed an overhand right that knocked Richard Clarke out. Kittikasem was able to do what none of Clarke’s previous 4 opponents (Rodolfo Blanco, Louis Curtis, Ysaias Zamudio, and Salvatore Fanni) had been able to do in the Team Championship Fights…knock out Clarke. All had won decisions.
3) Mike McCallum KO1 John Mugabi
“The Bodysnatcher” caught an aggressive Mugabi with a vicious uppercut on the inside. Mugabi fell in a heap and barely moved during the 10 count.
