Columbus Buckeyes 37-26

Cincinnati Red Stockings 31-31
Louisville Eclipse 27-34

The big news last week in the AA were the injuries to Louisville's key players. First, starting third baseman Jimmy Say suffered a thigh injury that will keep him out of action for the next month. Then the far more serious injury - Pete Browning suffered a fractured cheekbone that will end his season and leave any possible return date uncertain. The hope is that he will be ready to go at the start of the 1884 season, but right now things don't look good.
On the field, St. Louis had a good week, and now sits 2 1/2 games in front of Baltimore. They travel to Cincinnati and Columbus this week, while Baltimore journeys to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
