Is this a factor in CEI/SEI rates?
A credible statistician in an online league I am familiar with has noted that a measurable increase in injury levels seems to occur for certain teams and has surmised that there is a correlation with the retirement/other vacancy in a hidden coach/trainer staff.
When leagues are created teams get staffs assigned and even though coaching/trainer are turned off, they are still there in hidden form. Leaks of evidence for this are the 'odd' message a team gets about the retirement of a staff person. Does OOTP use staff information in calculating injuries? Does it do it even though staff is turned off? And when those staff go missing, does the level and severity of injuries take a jump?
Note that it does not have to be an online league. Anyone playing solo will have the same problem if they have changed the setting.
Anyone who has more evidence of this might want to mention it and it is time to let the OOTP developers know they have a problem here.
(Incidentally, this is not the only aspect of OOTP where a failure to do appropriate follow through clean up of the database when settings are changed then leads to degraded and incorrect program performance. There are many situations where changing a setting is treated as some kind of veneer and the underlying data is not changed, removed, or reset correctly. Changes to schedule settings, financial settings, league level settings, coaching on/off, minor leagues/inactive roster switch, and others have this lack of follow through in the database. The game will proceed with the incorrect information remaining in the database disjointed from the setting and at some point causing errors or other undesirable results in program operation.)
