Hey guys, thanks for the response to what became a big question for both spoor and myself. There were teams that have had such short lives it was difficult for them to produce a star player. The token example being Texas. The others were Montreal, Toronto, Anaheim, Seattle, and the White Sox. White sox not so short, but quality is limited. The reason for choosing Roger Clemens for Texas was because all of the famous players for Texas are playing now, thus eliminating them. So we sought out a list of players from Texas and we decided that we should end Clemens career early, he was clearly the best. Now for Toronto--clearly a town that needed someone to stay for a while. Some players are legends in Toronto but not good enough for us. George Bell, Lloyd Mosbey, and McGriff. We both had issues with McGriff he was dropped early. So what were we left with, Joe Carter and Roberto Alomar. It cant be Alomar because he still has plenty of career in him now and the fact that we considered Carter more known for Toronto than Alomar. That left us with Mr. Carter. He is someone that everyone knows and someone that has legendary status in MLB. 1993-Game 7-winning homerun off of Mitch Williams. That is something that every baseball fan on earth wants to see happen in the world series for their team of course. So basically Joe Carter got it because he has the stature and is retired.

Dave Winfield didnt get a shot because he is known more for the Padres and Yankees and he didnt really play there long enough.

If we werent allowing jerks into the league then Ty Cobb would still be pushin up daisies.

Thanks for the questioning of one of our rulings. We are eager to answer more.
