My apologies for such a cryptic report, but this was the first time I'd reported on text related bugs. In this case, the message was a news/email. Also, I've never quite figured out how this part of OOTP works. I believe the error must have originated in messages.dat. In my game, it produced this:

The [%string#1) was replaced with whatever it was supposed to be replaced with.
Possibly this is problem is specific to the player, or game, or situation. Don't know. So I'm just throwing it into the hopper.
