Update: Playoff Expansion
MLB to expand playoffs
Format will increase from 8 teams to 32 teams
NEW YORK CITY - Major League Baseball's commissioner, Jack Bauer, has announced that the owners have voted unanimously to expand the playoffs. There have been 8 teams allowed in the playoffs since the league's beginning in 2101. But Bauer says that times are changing:
"Let's face it - almost nobody watches the regular season. With only 4 teams out of 20 making the playoffs from each league, most of the teams have no shot by June, with four months to go in the regular season. Everybody loves the playoffs, why not allow just about everybody in? It will increase our revenues, and everybody, from fans to owners to players, will be happy. Plus, it will make for some very interesting office pools."
