So, I've tried three different historical seasons as the Orioles recently. 1960, 1964 and 1966.. These were all teams that won 90 plus games, and the '66 team won the World Series..
ANYWAY.. I got about 40 games into the 1960 season and I was an abysmal 13 and 27 or something very close. So I figured, I was rusty and started over using the 1964 Orioles (an even better team) my results werent any better. I played til about game 50 in the season and I was about 14 games under .500..
Now I just started the 1966 season with a loaded team and already I've started 2-7.
I cant figure out what the heck is going wrong. I never had this problem in older versions.

You've only played 40 or 50 games,you didn't even give it a chance.In my current MLB season,I fell to 24-30 with the 2009 Phillies,11 games out of first at the end of May/beginning of June.Since then,I've won 11 of 12 including a sweep of the first place Mets to move within 6 games of first with a 35-31 record.Its a long season,have patience.
