To get started, a non-commish manager does need at least all of the
.dat files. These
.dat files should be in a
.lg folder (such as
YourLeague.lg) which he inserts into his
saved_games folder.
The Commish should set up the manager's "account" within the game, before the manager receives the setup
.dat files. That way, the manager can log in to the league. Once he has the game loaded, the manager can "Load online league file" from the "Game" menu, which will download and install the league's
.tar.gz file.
In the initial setup, the Commish can include the other files, besides the
.dat files, that he wants the manager to have. It's useful for the manager to have all of the archived
.txt files from within the
news/txt folders. Be sure to preserve the folder structure when assembling the setup
.lg folder.
