July 2011 - Milwaukee Brewers
Manager and GM Fritsche
14th July 2011
A pity we couldn't sweep the Cubs, but I think we ended their playoff hopes for good. Traditionally we are not doing well after the All-Star break, so we will see how this season goes. To finish above .700 would of course be great. Has to be seen how 24-year old rookie Charles Hill fares in the big leagues. If he fails, we still have Ian Smell. With an AAA OPS of 1.020 we think António Cuarenta is ready as well. If not, he we won't be much worse than John Buck anyway. Johjima does well as backup and we hope to resign him as tutor for Cuarenta. We face now the Shortstop-less Cardinals for a four game set. The season series we lead 4 games to 3, so this is a real test for the younger version of the Brewers.
