The Sabermetric Baseball Sim is a new OOTP historical league that will start with the 2001 season. Our
website is still a work in progress, but you can already tell it is one of the best OOTP sites on the net! I have collected about a half-dozen extremely active owners from other leagues to ensure this will be a success, and now I'd like to fill out the rest of the teams with this advertisement.
We will be starting with the real-life rosters from the 2001 season, and several of the best teams are available. All players have been assigned their real-life salaries, so several teams do have some bad contracts to strategize around. However, every team is in a
very comfortable financial situation for at least the time being. All teams will have neutralized financial settings to start out - equal fan interest/market sizes, $125 mil salary cap, $100 mil team budget, $5 mil starting cash, $25 mil max cash.
Our league is very participation-oriented to ensure teams stay active. There will be a yearly participation points system (that resets at the end of each season) that will allow teams to "buy" things such as a ratings recalc using a player's real life statistics, exchanging points for team cash, and adding positions/pitches that a player has in real life.
