There is one aspect that I'm curious about: in a league which simulates so many games at once, what happens when a team which suffers a rash of injuries to important players? What if my team lost three of its starting pitchers for two or three months? What if both of my catchers got injured?

Because of that very issue, injuries are turned off. Fatigue is kept on to prevent it from being simply a game of who has the best starters, you really do need a full team, but without any way to address injuries as they happen, that had to be disabled in these leagues.

At first we were concerned on what it would mean for the overall league, the type of stats we would get overall as well as individual stats, the length of players careers, etc.. but after close to 70 seasons, I believe all of us have come to the conclusion that it all works just fine and most of us don't miss the injuries at all.

Instead of an injury short-circuiting a team's season, we often have cases where a player will suddenly start "aging" fast mid-season unexpectedly and that pretty much has the same effect on a team's season as losing their best pitchers for a long duration might have. Really the variable of having to guess at the start of a season how players might do (will the youngsters actually be able to perform at a major league level? Will the old players keep it together for the entire season?) becomes the huge question marks for everyone.
