Anaheim Angels v. Boston Red Sox
Fenway Park, Boston, Ma

In the midst of a four game losing streak, with the New York Yankees hot on the tails, the Red Sox enter a pivotal stretch with the Anaheim Angels coming to town.

Anaheim (49-55) are currently in fourth place in the American League West, 8.5 games behind the Texas Rangers (58-47) and 14.5 behind the Yankees in the Wild Card race. Their offense has let them down this season, as thy rank 14th in the AL in scoring (441 runs) while their pitching staff ranks 3rd in runs allowed (465) with their starters compiling a 4.10 ERA (3rd) and their bullpen a 3.46 ERA (4th).

Against the Red Sox this season, Anaheim is 2-4.

Boston's struggles this month have been well documented, as their 10-11 stretch this month has cut their lead in the division down to 2.5 games ahead of the Yankees. Despite their slump, the Sox still rank third in the AL in runs scored (532) and 2nd in OBP (.339).

Pitching Matchups:
7/28: Clay Buchholz (9-4, 4.77 ERA) v. Dustin Moseley (4-8, 7.46)
7/29: Josh Beckett (10-4, 3.73) v. John Lackey (7-5, 3.09)
7/30: Daisuke Matsuzaka (13-6, 3.20) v. Ervin Santana (10-2, 2.29)
