Tommy Gomez vs. Charlie Retzlaff – Retzlaff was known as the Duluth Dynamiter, and he was just that in the 1^st, battering Tampa Tommy, 20-5, knocking him down for a 7 count and stunning him at round’s end with an uppercut

! Tommy, using his hook and cross almost exclusively, came back to take a 10-6 2^nd, and might have won the 3^rd, 8-7, but Big Charley might have stolen it with a blistering combination just before the bell.

Tommy was landing his hooks and crosses in the 4^th, Charley opened with a big cross, closed with a big hook, and got the nod, 10-7. Retzlaff floored Gomez early in the 5^th for a 7 count with a combination

, landed cross after cross and a giant uppercut in the 2^nd minute, then floored Tommy twice more in the 3^rd. Gomez stayed down after the 3^rd KD, and Retzlaff was the impressive winner with a KO at 2:39 of the 5^th! He hoped someone would take notice of him and root for him!
