Genaro (left) was the American and NBA World Flyweight Champion. This light hitting technician fought 131 times over a 14 year period. During his career his victories included those against Pancho Villa, Bud Taylor, Memphis Pal Moore, Bushy Graham, Kid Williams and Frenchy Belanger.

McGowan won British, Commonwealth, European and WBC 'World' titles at Flyweight. He outpointed fellow Euro Fly Salvatore Burruni to win the WBF belt but lost the belt in the same year after being stopped by Chartchai Chionoi.
