Palazzatto dello Sport; Perugia, Italy
Gianfranco Rosi 56-5-1 (17) Italy IBF
vs.
Jorge Castro 73-3-3 (50) WBA

- Castro was a 3-2 favorite.
- The referee was from California. The 3 judges from Finland, South Korea, and Connecticut.
- Rosi was boxing well until Castro dropped him for the count of 3 in round 6. After the knockdown Rosi fought an extremely defensive fight, but still seemed to do enough to win. Ringside Expert Rocco Del Sesto had Rosi the winner 115-113. Punches landed favored Rosi 260- 203. The 3 official judges had it: Finland judge 118-110, South Korea judge 115-113, and the Connecticut judge 115-112, all for the winner by unanimous decision…..GIANFRANCO ROSI!!!
Gianfranco Rosi Wu12 Jorge Castro (unifies the WBA and IBF titles)
AND
Terry Norris 34-3-1 (17) CA WBC
vs.
Chris Pyatt 37-3 (29) England WBO
- Norris was 2-1 favorite.
- The referee was from Puerto Rico. The 3 judges from Italy, England, and New Zealand.
- Norris took control early, but Pyatt got his own licks in also, as evidenced by the growing mound under Norris’ left eye 22% closed.
- By the start of round 6 Pyatt was beginning to take a beating and an eventually stoppage loss for the Englishman seemed inevitable. With his own right eye 17% closed swelling badly, Pyatt was struggling to land against the superb Norris defense.
- Pyatt brought the crowd to their feet when one of his combination got through and deposited Terry Norris on the canvas for a 6 count!
- After 7 rounds Ringside Expert Javier Aguirre Flores had Norris in front by 2 points, 67-65. Punches landed favored Norris 201-123.
- Norris quicly recovered from the knockdown and resumed taking Pyatt to school. The right eye of Pyatt was 54% closed. In Norris’ corner, cutman Jim Strickland did an excellent job on Norris’ eye and it was now only 15% closed.
- After Pyatt went down again in round 10 and was taking tons of punishment the referee wisely stopped the fight and pulled Norris off him.
Terry Norris TKO10 Chris Pyatt (unifies WBC and WBO titles)
