After 162 games, 7 of the 8 playoff teams have been decided. In the AL, we have the Boston Red Sox, New Orleans Jazz, and Texas Rangers. In the NL, we have the Montreal Expos, New York Mets, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Diego Padres.

The Hartford Whalers and New York Yankees are tied for 4th, and will take part in a play-in game for the right to face the Red Sox in the first round of the playoffs.
