I'm not sure of what this team should do offensively. Brady Quinn is a possession QB. He's not going to take many chances, which in most circumstances will lead to fewer turnovers. While limiting turnovers is a good thing, you need to be able to get first downs to keep the ball moving. Our defense isn't good enough to play for a 9-6 win every game. I'd like the think that a big reason Brady doesn't take many chances (even for a conservative style) is that he has little faith in his receivers outside of Edwards. That wasn't helped by throwing a perfect strike to Cribbs across the middle for a first down in the opening quarter, only to have Cribbs drop it before he even got hit. Then he hits Cribbs over the middle again, who catches it this time, only to fumble it after being hit. He's got a rookie in Massaquoi, a rookie in Robiskie (who wasn't even dressed yesterday), and guys that nobody has really heard of (as receivers, at least, as Cribbs is still well known for special teams and even in the wildcat). I would like to imagine that at some point in the next few weeks, at least 1 other receiver will show something at practice that gives Quinn confidence enough to go deep to him, or else this team may not score 100 points all season.

You could put DA in, sure. But he's the antithesis of Quinn. He's a risk taker. He may be able to come up with a few more big plays, but his inconsistency will lead to one good game followed by 3 horrible games. The issue in that case would be would the offense be able to make up the points that will be given up by DA turnovers in Cleveland territory? Once again, the defense isn't good enough to be given a short field to defend too many times in a game.

I still think that Quinn is a better QB than Anderson, or at the very least, more consistent. And, in this game, at least Braylon and Quinn seemed to be getting on the same page. However, another receiver (whether Furrey or one of the two rookies, or Cribbs) HAS to show that they can consistently catch the football. Otherwise, there is no reason to not double up Edwards.

As for the defense, I don't know what to say. The run defense has been solid in the first half the first two weeks, only to complete meltdown in the second half. Poor tackling seems to be a big reason for this. Maybe this team, despite a tougher training camp schedule than under Crennel, isn't conditioned well enough. They seem tired out by the end of the third quarter. I do like that they've been able to get pressure on the QB. The pass rush is much better than last year, but the secondary has to a better job of coverage. Doesn't do any good to get pressure when the QB is able to get out a pass to a guy that's open by 10 yards.

I picked this team to lose their first three games. They are well on their way. Still, I didn't imagine that they would self destruct so badly in the second half this year. They've only been outscord 20-19 in the first half, but they've been hammered 41-7 in the second half.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!
