Stupendous 6s Round 2 Fight 1
Hubert Hilton (level 5) (5-2-1 1) vs. Johnny Arthur (1-0 1) – Hilton had won a split decision over Gerald Griffith, while Arthur had stopped Blue Lewis in the 6th, a bout in which he had been losing. Johnny came in heavy, dismissing Hilton’s chances as a Level 5 fighter .
Johnny boxed nicely in the 1st, countering effectively and building up a big lead. A huge Hilton hook just before the bell marred his shutout bid, 12-5. They traded punches, Hilton’s hook’s and Arthur’s crosses, in an 11-10 round that Hubie might have pulled out. It was the same type of round in the 3rd, Arthur landing one crisp cross, Hilton coming back with two sharp hooks, one at round’s end, to possibly take it, 12-10!
Hube rushed out to start the 4th and tagged Johnny with a herculean hook, and Johnny dropped ! He was back up at 7, covering up, and he did that effectively, coming back with a few nice counters. A frustrated Hilton stepped back, regained his composure after firing and missing, and caught Arthur with a wicked 5 punch combination . King Arthur dropped, and was unable to beat the count, so Hubert Hilton scored another upset with a KO at 2:44 of the 4th! I don’t think Arthur will take him lightly if there is a next time !
