Very nice series win against the Giants. Even if we are nowhere near the league leaders in any category as a team, we do very well as a 1st year franchise. Can we hold on?
Up next a very emotional home series against our fellow Canadians from Toronto, who do surprisingly bad after their move from the AL Central. The 2012 version is still led by the likes of Adam Lind, B.J. Ryan and Vernon Wells.

The Blue Jays batted around in the 1st, but we somehow managed to tie the game. Anyway the victory came with two sour notes: Héctor Martinez (0-0, 1.93 ERA) is out for the season with a torn back muscle and 2B B.J. Upton (.235, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 4 SB) will miss up to nine weeks with a herniated disk in the back.


Elsewhere:

The Tigers pitcher Roman Colon (2-2, 3.91 ERA) pitched a 5-hit shutout against Cleveland.

The Marlins 3B Yunel Escobar (.389, 0 HR, 2 RBI) is out for the season with a ruptured disc.


Trade:

The White Sox traded benched star C Shinnosuke Abe (.294, 1 HR, 10 RBI) and $3,000,000 in cash to the Yankees for minor league LF Melquisedec Mesa (.283, 4 HR, 16 RBI - AAA). I won't deny that we also had Abe on our shortlist.
