· Harding was a 14-1 favorite.
· The bruising rough and tumble Australian was finally starting to gain some respect within boxing circles and had placed himself into the Pound for Pound lists when he spectacularly knocked out Thomas Hearns earlier in the year. With Jeff Harding being a National hero in Australia, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre had quickly sold all 13,221 available seats.
· This fight was entertaining for the 5 rounds it lasted. The question was who could take the other guys punches better and Harding won that contest. By the start of round 3 Montana was exhausted. Harding walked through all of the Montana bombs as if they had never happened. The inevitable finally occurred in round 5, with Montana barely moving, as the referee tolled “10!”
