It seems Andreas needs to work full time on the money making game and as they cant afford another programmer, and i do understand this and why.The reality is if Andreas does not do the Title Bout games its over. Hi,

I don't come by the forum very often and just looked in to see whether there was any development news and I am very sad to see that this franchise might have run it's course. I love the game and I have had a version available since 2004, looking back this is the only game I have ever bought that I have never uninstalled and that I always return to.

As someone who spent 15 years in C++ commercial development, business applications not games, I have to agree with the above poster that it is extremely unlikely that anyone will take this on for free. I never met a free developer and don't expect to find one soon. If the developer really as not got the time nor money to proceed with a version 3.0 then it probably is the end. I think that to develop a v3.0 which had a chance of selling the entire game, especially the interface, would require a major overhaul and that takes time and money.

As I see it there are a couple of possible alternatives. If TBCB's developer really does think this game as run its course in terms of being able to generate income then they could make it open source and perhaps a few of us with development experience could take it up. I am not sure this is all that viable and with the small user base there might not be the programming experience this would require.

The other option would be to allow us to mod the game heavily. For this we would just need to have access to the file formats for all of the game data files. I for one, if I had the required information, would not mind spending some of my spare time on creating mods to enhance the gameplay. I tend to roleplay my games taking the part of a gym and steering a stable of fighters to glory, or not. It would definitely be possible to create a modern interface allowing more complicated scheduling and bout arranging. Now I have started thinking about it, it would be almost possible to update the game completely with external mods and use TBCB as just the fight engine.

Anyway if this really is the end of the game it is good to see that a lot of other people have had as much enjoyment from it as myself. I made 3 payments over the course of the years for TBCB and in game terms it is the best investment I have ever made.
