schedules section of the online manual. I think it is pretty good and hopefully it can prove that by answering your questions.
Regarding the naming of the files, the manual explains all the options, but files (as long as properly formatted and matching the league parameters) can at least be manually loaded regardless of the name. So what you have is fine. To get some of the bells and whistles like with automatic loading of files, specific naming methods are described in the manual can optionally be employed.
