OOTP's definitive 19th century league

The Trans-Continental Base-Ball Association was founded by the owners of the Union and Central Pacific Railroads in 1870 as a small western league promoting their new railroad, making it the world's first professional baseball league. By 1871 it had expanded nationwide and taken the National Association's top talent with it.

The 1881 season is winding down and we need a new owner for the New York Blue Stockings. They have the 2nd-ranked minor league system and the #1 pick in the upcoming draft, so if you're looking for a good young team, this is for you.

TCBA is the deepest 19th century simulation out there. Features include:
  • Teams are fictional
  • Amateurs are a mix of fictional players and top historical rookies
  • Free agency with 8 years service
  • Extensive network of minor and independent leagues allowing opportunities to purchase players and affiliate with multiple teams at each minors level
  • Sims are three weeks at a time, three times per week, getting through an entire season in one month.
  • Condensed stats modifiers, starting the liveball era in the mid 1880s
  • Historically accurate market sizes based on census data with opportunities to relocate

I am also an OOTP 11 beta tester, meaning this league will be thoroughly tested in preparation for the new version to take full advantage of all the new features.

We're looking for dedicated owners. The league is made up of a tight-knit group and it moves quickly, requiring regular attention. Please consider the commitment involved before responding.

You may respond to this thread or send me a PM. It's almost time for the offseason so you'll be able to start shaping your team immediately.
