Wbf
Hey Guys, I a relativly new to this and I thought just for a laugh I would start a universe set in 1980, encompasing the 1980's wrestlers as if they were boxers instead.
They will be fighting for a fictional organisation called World Boxing Federation in a Roster of approx 40 boxers.
There is only one champion and the weight class is Heavyweights only.
Please remember this is just a bit of fun and I am also crap at writing articles.
Ok the start things off I have comprised a fictional news page, this starts in Feb 1980.
HOGAN CELBRATES HIS IMPRESSIVE WIN BUT HAS THE WBF TITLE IN HIS SIGHTS.ffice ffice" />>>
Hulk Hogan, 29, captured the WBF Ranking Tournament Belt yesterday, after defeating three other opponents, over a three week period. Hogan who with relative ease finished the tournament with three KO victories over opponents who were>>
Shorter and some appearing faster. However Hogan’s physic and power ensured that the punches Hogan landed hurt his opponents, forcing three stoppages. Hogan also demonstrated that his chin is in top notch as punches landed to his head, prompted a smirk and showed no signs that the punches had any effect. Hogan who is expected to be a serious contender over coming months and who is personally gunning for Andre The Giant the current Heavyweight Champion.>>

“You know something brother that big oaf has been champion far to long now brother, but his time is over, and me and my Hulkamaniacs want a shot at the big gold. Plenty of people are gonna try and get in the way brother, but with all my training, vitamins and prayers, I will defeat The Giant and will be crowned the New WBF Heavyweight Champion, so Andre watcha gonna do, when these pythons are unleashed on you?”>>

Hogan is expected to face The Big Bossman on the 21st of March, The Bossman who lost his last fight to Mr Perfect, has reported that he has upped his training regime in order to increase his stamina as he believes this is letting him down greatly, in which he attributes the loss to Mr Perfect. “I am a born contender, I studied law and the law says that I should be a contender, come March 21st, Hogan isn’t gonna know what hit him, as I intend to be faster and stronger than I ever have been”.
>ANDRE PAST IT? OR BORED?>>
Current WBF Heavyweight champion Andre the Giant, has sparked rumours of a possible retirement. In Andre’s last match over a year a go, contender King Kong Bundy proved a tough fight for the ninth wonder of the world. In round 3 he proved that he is still a force to be reckoned with, and reminded us why he is the champion. His illustrious 14 year career as a professional boxer, encompassing 2 World Titles, and looking stronger than ever, but is he past it? or just bored?. During the bout with Bundy, Andre lacked the motivation and determination that we have seen over the past 12 years. Although landing that devastating punch in the 3rd round, Andre took a lot of punishment, and all three score cards had it at Bundy winning at that point. In the 3rd Bundy started well, however Andre delivered a hard right to the cheek of Bundy and he was knocked down. However Bundy got back up and knocked Andre down in the 11th round. Andre managed to climb back to his feet and the fight lasted the distance. The UD went to Andre, but it was a far from convincing performance. Andre who has been reported to have taken a laid back approach to his training, however still is a regular down his local gym. As new blood has entered the federation and Andre turning 37 in May, Andre sitting on the prize that so many others are aiming for, can he be knocked off his perch? Time will tell, as the WBF fights out a valid contender for his belt, all he can do is prepare himself for further glory, or a sad end to his long career.>>

MR T AND RODDY PIPER GO AT IT AGAIN.>>
Last months controversial fight involving Mr T and Rowdy Roddy Piper has sparked rumours of a possible re-match. The rumours turned to reality yesterday when the WBF announced the rematch will take place on 21st March. Last months bout, a thriller in its own right, let down only by the final decision, as the majority would have awarded it to Mr T. However winning by UD, Roddy Piper took the match by 113-115 , 115-113 & 115-113. I personally scored it 115-113 to Mr T, as though in the match Mr T did tire and he was largely quiet in the first three rounds, but from round 4 to about round 10, it was all Mr T. The punches kept coming and he as able to keep the pressure on Piper and ensure Piper had to keep guessing as to Mr T’s gameplan. However the 30 year old, tired by round 10 and Piper who is known for his stamina took control of the fight. But I didn’t see it as enough; I didn’t see it swinging the entire fight in Piper’s favour. Piper wasn’t able to effectively hurt Mr T, although Piper had his moments, Mr T did not once look rattled, Piper on the other hand was visibly shaken in Rounds 6 and in 7. But Piper’s amazing stamina held out and by the judges eyes earned him the UD. Mr T furious with the result demanded a rematch, however it looked as if Piper was to challenge for the #1 Contender for the WBF World championship. But his performance in the bout has the WBF taking another look at whether he has a viable claim to challenge. The rematch bout is due to take place on March 21st. With Mr T looking to finish of his business with Piper, and Piper looking to prove to us all that he can genuinely beat Mr T and go on to be in the running for the next contender, whatever the outcome, its sure to be as thrilling as the first bout, or is it?>>
NEW BLOOD TAKES OVER THE WBF>>
The past three months has seen an increase in new talent joining the WBF, most notably from Stu Hart’s promotion. Stu has inducted no less than five new boxers into the WBF organisation and has high hopes for each individual. Brothers Bret and Owen Hart, along with Davey Boy Smith nicknamed The British Bulldog and Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart. Stu who believes each could be a World Title holder, has a long road ahead of him, and will announce bouts for each boxer soon, sticking to his famous and effective training schedules, if each fighter lives up to his hype, we could see an interesting next few>>
years in the WBF.Other notable new blood is Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels, each trained by Jose Lothario who is the current trainer of Rick Rude who is fighting to become the #1 contender for Andre’s championship . His comments on Marty and Shawn were simple, “Watch this space”, as with the Hart promotion, Lothario will be looking to push his fighters as far as they can go and reap the rewards that will no doubt follow.>>
THE PERFECT CONTENDER?>>
Well that inevitable title match is just around the corner, but who is Andre to face? with so many potentials on the horizon, one obvious choice is Curt Henning ‘Mr Perfect’. Mr Perfect, who claims to be the perfect fighter, perfect at punching, perfect at dodging, perfect at his defence, perfect ring Intelligence etc., but can he back this claim up? In short….yes. After joining the WBF two years ago, after five professional fights, he is yet to be challenged. Each fight he demonstrated his effective>>
style and ringsmanship, he dominated each fight and is aiming for the very top. No-body looks like touching him, the gameplan his mentor Bobby Heenan has installed in him, pulls off everytime. When asked to comment Heenan stated that his fighter was un-beatable, even by other fighters in his own stable, “He is too perfect, he is most naturally gifted fighter in my gym, hence his name Mr Perfect”. When asked if he could beat Andre for the title, he summed up his chances by stating this “Andre has never fought a Perfect boxer, I mean I am the most perfect boxer in history, The Bossman knows it, Animal knows it, Warlord knows it, bring them all on, it can only perfect my technique, nobody can beat me, I am too fast, too strong and too smart to be beaten, you can’t hit me, you can’t touch me, anyone who wants a piece of Mr Perfect is gonna get it”>>
WARRIOR HAS A PLAN>>
With the division bursting with potential #1 contenders to challenge ‘The Giant’ for his title, nobody is more convinced it should be them, than the Ultimate Warrior. The Warrior, who refuses to diverge anything about his past fights, and attributes them strictly to how his destiny is to be played out. His latest remarks is that his ‘plan’ is to follow the path of the gods that enabled him to become a true warrior in the sense that he will be crowned champion and will defeat all other challengers where necessary. Sounds like a plan right?, however the one flaw in that plan is, he will have to beat at least 5 other top fighters in order to obtain a shot and judging from past displays, he will need to up his technique in order to take on the likes of Mr Perfect or even King Kong Bundy, both of whom have the power to stop the Warrior. The Warrior who also refused to have his own trainer and insist the gods are training him in which there method must be questioned as to a man who sprints from the dressing room into the ring , shakes the ropes with his gloves and continuously jogs on the spot even when the ref is reciting the rules to both fighters. I mean his so called trainers obviously overlooked the fact that energy wasted is going to have an outcome on the fight, and when The Warrior starts to face fierce competition and his ring entrance consists of wasting precious juice before he has even thrown a punch, he is going to inevitably struggle and thus his plan will fail. However, he still manages to keep enough in reserve to deliver a killer blow, as Bam Bam Bigalow found out, when he really should have been exhausted in Round 9, and appearances did show a tired fighter, as he clinched and fell against the ropes, he summoned enough energy to catch Bigalow with a hard left, which sent the big man flying across the ring to fall flat on his back. I am sure he was counting stars as the ref reached 10, The Warrior never ceases to amaze me, and his ability to take a punch is almost freakish, Bam Bam must have hit him with everything he had and The Warrior absorbed it. In this sense his name is quiet rightly justified, he is a Warrior when it comes to survival in the ring and his big heart extends this ability. But he has not faced a true technician yet and his ability to take multiple shots to the head and body could fail. Is he a true contender? Logic says no, but his faith says possibly. As much as I critize his style, he is entertaining, and it’s that entertainment, that is going to keep me interested.>>
I will post fight fixtures this evening - hope you thought it was a laugh.
