Holy hell, Rob Ryan was right. He said today that Cincinnati's game winning field goal in OT Sunday was no good. Looking at the video, he's right. Here is a link:

Cleveland Browns defensive coordinator Rob Ryan says Cincinnati Bengals missed game-winning field goal Sunday | Cleveland Browns - cleveland.com - - cleveland.com

The field goal is at the upright at the 5:28 mark of the video. Pause it just as it as it gets near the left upright and you clearly see it pass in front of the upright and not behind it, as it should if it were good.

This would have only meant a tie, sure. But my beef is with this line of the story I linked to:

Quote:
The field judge standing right underneath the upright called it good, and we have reviewed multiple video from different angles and seen nothing to dispute the call.
How is the video in the story itself conclusive evidence to dispute the call? I realize you might not want to open a can of worms so long after the game, but the we've "seen nothing to dispute the call" excuse is asanine.

EDIT: After watching it on NFL.com which is a little better quality, it's hard to say. I couldn't exactly tell.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!
