California Dreamin' vol. 14.3
Esquivel Dealt To Brauers
A press release draft has been leaked, and it's been determined that the California Crusaders have traded 30 year old outfielder David Esquivel.
If the rumors are correct, Esquivel is headed to the FIBB Euro, specifically to the Munchen Brauers.
Coming to the Crusaders (allegedly) is shortstop prospect Keneki Kapuaula, a 20 year old who spent the 2019 season in Short A.
There had been word from the Crusaders that the front office was largely disappointed with the recent $6,000,000 arbitration salary awarded to Esquivel, given that the outfielder appeared in less than 70 games in the 2019 season.
Given that Ricardo Soto, Miguel GARICA, Ruben Velez, Alfonso Inigo, and Carlos Mora figured to get the bulk of playing time, Esquivel was to be the odd man out, and paying $6M for a SIXTH outfielder was probably not the best idea.
Esquivel figures to get a starting job in Munchen, while Kapuaula is likely to be groomed as the next Crusaders shortstop once Nick Woods leaves town.
