The San Diego Padres have acquired 27 year old 1B Pat Tabler from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for 27 year old 2B Alan Wiggins. For his career, Tabler has played in 331 and collected a .275 batting average, 19 home runs, 148 RBI and 143 runs scored. As for Wiggins, the 5 year MLB vet has a career .266/.342 BA/OBP with 42 doubles and 174 stolen bases.
One day following the extension of Britt Burns' contract, the White Sox have announced the signing of RHP Rich Dotson to a 3 year deal worth $4,140,000. In his 6 year MLB career, Dotson has a 70-55 record with a 3.51 ERA and a 521/464 K/BB ratio
Houston Astros starting pitcher Bob Knepper was all smiles today following the announcement of a 6 year contract extension worth an eye popping $13,308,332. The 30 year old Knepper will be staying in Houston through the 1991 season.
