Points of Interest:

7-9-13 -
Frank Baker collects 6 hits for the Cardinals against Pittsburgh.

Steve Evans (NYY), Frank Baker (STLN), and Al Wickland (NYG) all hit for the cycle in 1913.

10 SP win 20 games.

9-8-13 -
Mike Donlin collects his 2000th base hit for the Senators.

The offensive minded Yankees return to the World Series trying to repeat after beating the Reds last season. This time they face a familiar foe in the St Louis Cardinals, who are here for the 6th time in the last 7 seasons. The Yanks are powered by Eddie Collins, Stuffy McInnis, and Larry Doyle on offense. Tom Seaton and Hub Perdue man the bump for the New Yorkers most of the time.

St Louis wins 100 games for the third time and led the NL in both offensive and pitching rankings. Cobb, Baker, Wheat, and Chief Meyers lead the way at the plate while gone is Frank Corridon to free agency. Not to worry, the staff still includes Walter Johnson, Tom Hughes, and Charlie Chech.

Exorcising some demons, the Yankees dispatch their nemesis in 5 games to take their second straight No Pepper title.

Minor League Update:
Columbus(CLE) defeats Montreal(BKN) for the AAA Series title.
Albany(NYY) beats Memphis(STLN) to take the AA Series title.
