There's too much being read into all of this. I don't think the strategies change much, if at all, should you leave it alone, BUT I don't know what harm could come of turning coaches on, using the option for your minor leagues if that's what bothers you, then turning it off again. Check your strategies at that point, unless it shows "This league does not use coaches" or something on that order, and see if the sliders are still set in a similar fashion to what your Ask AI/Manager maneuver selected.
