Silva Baffles Sox, A's Take Series
Oakland 5, Boston 3

Jesus Silva continued Oakland's hot streak against the Sox. Over seven strong innings, Silva held the Sox to two runs on nine hits, while striking out six.

With one out in the third, Travis Buck got the A's started against Clay Buccholz with a single to right. Bobby Crosby reached base on an error by Julio Lugo before Daric Barton put Oakland ahead with a three run home run.

Boston rallied back to cut the lead to 4-3 in the eighth on a solo home run from Rafael Furcal, his first with the Sox, but it wasn't enough. Oakland added an insurance run in the ninth off Manny Declarmen to take the season series 6 games to 4.
