Baseball America Top 10 Prospects

April 4, 1873

Baseball America announced their Top 100 Prospect List. Here is the Top 10.

1. SP Carlos Banuelos - Chicago White Stockings
Banuelos was the #2 pick in the 1872 First Year Player's Draft


2. SP Randy Miller - Brooklyn Atlantics
Miller moved up a spot from #3 on last year's list.


3. SP Mark Pittman - Philadelphia Keystones
Mark Pittman was the top overall pick in ther 1872 First Year Player's Draft.


4. SP Mark Sawyer - Baltimore Canaries
Sawyer was the #3 pick in the ABC's Inaugural Draft. He looks to be the Canaries' #2 SP this season.


5. SP Chris Woods - Cincinnati Reds
Woods was by the Reds with the #3 overall pick in last year's First Year Player's Draft.


6. SP James Martin - Brooklyn Atlantics
The Buffalo Bisons selected Martin #4 last year in the draft.


7. SP Ryan Johnson - New York Mutuals
Johnson is developing into a fine starting pitcher after being selected in the 17th round of the 1871 Inaugural Draft.


8. SP Jesus Herrera - Baltimore Canaries
Some are saying the Herrera is the next Arlen Robinson. We'll see if the #6 pick from last year's draft can break into the majors this season.


9. SP Antonio Martinez - Boston Red Stockings
Martinez is ready for the majors. The only thing standing in his way? Red Bishop!


10. 2B Jody Lilly - Boston Red Stockings
Lilly will get his chance this season as the Red Stockings' Opening Day starting 2B.
