1873 First Year Players Draft - 1st Round Results

Representatives of the 8 ABC franchises got together today for the annual First Year Player's Draft. There weren't any surprises as 7 of the 8 picks were starting pitchers.

1. SP Dan Wells - New York Mutuals

2. SP Jimmy Douglas - Brooklyn Atlantics

3. SP Todd Taylor - Chicago White Stockings

4. SP William Perry - Washington Nationals

5. SP Alvin Hughes - Cincinnati Reds

6. LF Ricardo Benitez - Boston Red Stockings

7. SP Herb Funk - Philadelphia Keystones

8. SP Jose Granados - Baltimore Canaries
