I happened to see this just after playing a 1907 in which we faced pither Roy Hitt, so it got me thinking:
Matt Batts played for Bos/Det in the 50s
We all know Larry and Todd Walker
There have been at least half a dozen Singletons
I had to look these two up, but indeed there was a pitcher name Jake Striker
and a utility man named Jim Steels
There have been several players named Ball
but, oddly enough, never a major leaguer named Wild/Wilde.
My recent favorites are the closer Eddie Guardado, wondering if Rob Ducey could hit the curve, and, of course, a pitcher named Homer.
