HR - LA: J. Crede (12) |
Scott Kazmir threw a complete game shutout, striking out six. Carlos Marmol, making his first-ever start, allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, walking 5 in five innings of work. Sammy Strang drove in a pair for the Idols.

HR - LOU: H. Long (13), J. Kelley (13) |
Jason Jennings worked in and out of jams over six innings, as Oscar Charleston left 6 men on base and Ty Wigginton left 5 before Jeff Tesreau came on for a three-inning save for Louisville.

Bill Drake had nothing, giving up six runs on eight hits over 2 2/3 innings, as the Knights battered the Heroes and Dontrelle Willis went the distance for the 10th time this season. Combined with Louisville's win, the Northern League East is now tied.

HR - IND: H. Ramirez (11), E. Flick (15) |
Indianapolis tried desperately to gag away a 13-3 lead, but held on. Josh Beckett continued a horrendous season for Las Vegas, while Jack Taylor was decent before losing his way in the 9th, only to watch as Victor Zambrano allowed 4 runs on 5 hits without retiring a batter until Joakim Soria bailed him out to end it. Elmer Flick went 5-for-5 with a homer and 3 RBI for Indianapolis. Sam Wise also drove in 3. Tom Daly had 3 RBI for Las Vegas.

HR - WIC: R. Cano (5), J. Sheckard (4)

All pitching has bad days, even San Antonio's. Jay Gibbons went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and Robinson Cano also drove in 3 for Wichita. Jimmy Sheckard, Buddy Kerr, George Davis and Chick Stahl each drove in a pair for the Brigade, which lit up in succession Dick Rudolph, Tully Sparks and Jason Marquis. Michael Young drove in 3 for San Antonio in the loss.
