I know you guys are kidding, but there really isn't anything wrong in rooting for the AL (or NL), once your team is out. If anything, I want the team that
bounced or
kept me out of the playoffs to do well so that my team doesn't look so bad! Previous years, I pulled for the BoSox after the Yanks were eliminated. This rabid rivalry stuff is overdone, really. But hey, if it makes you feel better to hate New York and/or the Yankees, go right ahead.
