Al Javery and Justin Verlander locked up in a great duel, settled when Buck Ewing hit a sac fly for the go ahead run in the 8th. Takashi Saito recovered from the blown save last night to throw a perfect ninth.

HR - None |
A brutal loss for New Orleans, which battled back from being down 5-0 and 7-2, only to surrender three runs in the final two innings for the loss. Doc McJames had his worst start since late July, but was off the hook until Ricky Nolasco collapsed for the second straight appearance, giving up a 1-out triple to Grant Johnson in the 10th before uncorking a wild pitch to bring him home.

HR - LA: J. Kimbro (1) |
Los Angeles blows a 5-1 lead as Billy Rhines stays in too long and Larry Corcoran can't stop the bleeding. Ty Wigginton had four hits and two RBI for Memphis in the win and Carlos Quentin added three RBI.

HR - SA: M. Lamb (8) ALA: R. Lamanno (6), M. Jacobs (21), B. Bradley (9) |
Tully Sparks gets pounded for San Antonio, but their offense musters a comback, getting it to 9-8 with a 5-run 8th that sees Mike Lamb hit a 2-run shot off CC Sabathia. But Mike Jacobs and Bill Bradley each homer for Alabama in the 8th to ice it. Jacobs and Ray Lamanno each drove in four for Alabama.
