Stan Musial stays hot as Louisville overcomes a rare poor start from Roy Oswalt to take a 6-5 lead on a 3-run Hardy Richardson homer before the bullpen blows it. Musial and Wally Pipp each drove in three on the day.

Frank Killen lost his third straight for New York despite a strong effort. Bob Shawkey went eight strong innings for his first win since August 16th.

Fred Tenney drove in four on the day including a 2-run blast off Ricky Nolasco with nobody out in the bottom of the 10th as Los Angeles has seen its pitching step up down the stretch to put them comfortably in first.

The Orcas crush five homers on the night, as Noodles Hahn's fall from grace continues. San Antonio is at a desperation point, as they are getting neither pitching nor hitting, and their pursuit of Los Angeles seems just about over. Sam Crawford drove in five and Ken Harvey and Pete Browning each drove in a pair.
