California Dreamin' vol. 14.13
Kennelly Suffers Major Injury

Luigi Kennelly had it all going for him this season.
He'd made 8 starts, sported a league best 7-0 record, a 1.73 ERA, and was striking out twice as many guys as he walked. As one of California's big three, aside Mario Garcia and Crawford Tetreault, Kennelly was one of the catalysts for California this season, as the Crusaders maintain first place in the MBBA Pacific.
On May 16th, that all changed. In a game against Buffalo, Kennelly was removed from the game after feeling a pop in his elbow after delivering a pitch. The team held its collective breath while awaiting the results of an MRI, and their fears were confirmed. Kenelly had ruptured the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm, and would miss a full calendar year due to the injury.
Talk about a cursed franchise.
While not career ending, Kennelly's future is nowhere near as bright as before. Already suffering talent hits in the past, and reportedly the same taking place due to injury, things just don't look very good for the Australian lefty.
"I've got to do my work, my rehab." said Kennelly. "I don't know what will come of it, but I'll pitch again."
All we can do is hope he's right.
