Seaver Injured,Career In Jeopardy?

Doctors in Chicago have just wrapped up a press conference that has confirmed the worst.Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Tom Seaver who was injured in yesterday's game in Toronto has been diagnosed with a compressed radial nerve in his right elbow and will need season ending surgery. If everything goes well,Seaver could be ready for spring training next season.A veteran of 19 MLB seasons,Seaver is sitting at 293 wins, seven shy of the magical 300,but at the age of 40,and facing a major elbow surgery will he ever be able to get there? "I hope so" said Tom,"I know I have a long road ahead of me,but I really want that 300th win.You can bet I'll do everything I can to get back on that field for my 20th season" We're rooting for you Tom! For his career,Seaver has a record of 293-184,with a sparkling career ERA of 2.80 and 3,437 strikeouts.Other career highlights include:
1967 Rookie Of The Year
3 time Cy Young award winner(1969,1973,1975)
12 time all-star
1 World Series Championship(1969)
